paper boats went sailing again-where the snowmelt pond once was (see june blogs). over the summer, the water dried up and now there is a sea of yellow leaves.
whispers & explosions: a collaborative artist book in three parts - one handmade paper book with collage and two ice books with text and ephemera embedded.
made in collaboration with my friend, garnet. the text is taken from whispers in conversations i've had recently. this project was made for a charity auction. the highest bidder will get the paper book and have the choice of delivered ice books or melting them with the artists at a site of their choice.
made some temporary drawings in the form of sidewalk chalk art in a local festival. it was fun and meditative. colorful chalk and realizing the impermanence takes away a lot of pressure....why is that?
the two larger images, butterflies and poppies, had smaller images with
text running along the bottom- didn't get too great of picture of the smaller works. the text read: a ee eye oh! you. sometimes why?
a river of art. kids from a local summer program taught me a thing or two when i shared my idea for a river of art. the kids created double sided art works that were inspired by the river, art and poems. each person's artwork was put into a plastic baggie and placed into the 'river of art', a temporary, outside sculpture of sorts. individual pieces will be shown in a local gallery later this summer.
after they placed their pieces in the 'river', we made paper boats together.....
